Music wizard Ouseppachan has been selected for the “Raveendra Puraskar” set up in memory of late Malayalam music director “Raveendran”.The award instituted by Raveendra Musical Trust comprises of citation, plaque and a token cash prize of Rs 10,001. The award is given to remember the major contributions that Raveendran Master had given to the entire Malayalam music industry and first time the award was bagged by veteran musical director Sri. M.K.Arjunanan in 2006. In 2007, the award winner was Sri. Johnson and that award will be presented to him on the 9th March of 2008 by Sobha Raveendran, wife of Raveendran.
The jury for the selection committee for the “Raveendra Puraskar- 2008 is headed by veteran Music director Sri. M.K.Arjunan and they unanimously selected musical maestro Ouseppachan for this prestigious award.
Ouseappachan is an outstanding performer with a lot of musical caliber produced several hits and he is the only music director who creates music according to the latest trends in the industry. But he never eliminates his melodious touch while creating even fast numbers and the famous director Bharathan discovered the talents of this music director. He introduced Ouseappachan through his film “Kathodu Kathoram” and all songs of that film capture the minds of all malayalees even today. Even the all time musical genius A.R.Rahman had worked as an arranger for his several films. His latest tunes in the recent film “Pranayakalam” are top class and the song “Oru venal puzhayil” is chartered top rank in songs ratings. So “Raveendra Puraskar “, a dream award for every musician, adds a sparkling note to his musical career.
