INDIA’S NEW WEB BROWSER “EPIC” RELEASED



Finally India launched her first web browser which has been made completely in India. The browser named Epic browser is based on the Mozilla platform, specifically customized to the taste of Indian users. Epic has several preinstalled widgets such as social networking (Face book, Orkut), chat clients (yahoo messenger) and email facilities integrated into the browser.

Hidden Reflex, a Bangalore based company has brought forth this web browser. The unique feature of this Indian browser is its integrated virus protection powered by ESET. i.e. Free antivirus scanning and healing is built into Epic and is claimed to be the first web browser featuring built in antivirus and anti phishing protection.

Epic currently supports 12 Indian languages including Hindi, Bangla, Punjabi, Marathi, Malayalam ,Gujarati, Sanskrit, Nepali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Urdu. There's additional transliteration support for Arabic, Farsi/Pesian, Russian, and Greek. It features a huge collection of themes and wall papers featuring subjects related to India.

Epic is currently available for Windows, though Linux and Mac versions are also expected.

Epic was released on 15th July 2010 and is available as a free download (Size: 10.6Mb).
