MOBILE PHONES WITHOUT IMEI NUMBER WILL BE BANNED SOON.



Mobile Handsets without IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) Number will be banned from December-1, 2009. Indian Cellular Association, an organization of mobile phone service providers gave this warning to all mobile users of India.

IMEI is a 15-digit code which appears on the operator’s network whenever a call is made. The IMEI number helps authorities track users and Mobiles phones without IMEI number are considered a grave security threat and concerns had been raised over their usage after recent terrorist attacks.

The Department of Telecommunications had earlier asked operators to disconnect services to handset that does not have a IMEI number. Most of the Chinese mobile handsets will be banned in India because they do not have the IMEI number.

By pressing *#o6#, the IMEI number will be displayed on the screen. We can check the credibility of IMEI number by sending SMS to 57886.

For that just type
IMEI (space) 15 digits number and send it to 57886.

ALL ABOUT THE ONE SECOND PULSE TARIFF OF BSNL PREPAID SCHEME, KERALA

Finally, BSNL Kerala introduced the one second pulse tariff for all BSNL prepaid customers of Kerala. This offer is applicable for Ayush, Anand, General Prepaid and Women Power customers of BSNL.

For effecting one second pulse tariff, a special tariff voucher of Rs.49 is to be used for each month. This voucher has talk time of only Rs.4.. By using another special tariff voucher of Rs.132, one second pulse tariff will be available for three months.

Call Charges: 1 Paisa for 1 second for all local calls
2 Paisa for 1 second for all STD calls.


Along with this special voucher, it is not possible to use other special tariff vouchers. Another interesting fact is that this scheme is not applicable for Student Scheme customers of BSNL Kerala Circle.

BSNL also introduced Top up cards of Rs.10 and Rs.20.
